Globetrotters Cup

2027 Globetrotters Cup

What is the Over 40 Globetrotters Cup?

Knees That Craic is launching a new chapter in our story: the Globetrotter Cup, a roaming Over 40s tournament held on the last weekend of May every year (Memorial Weekend). This annual event is designed for players who are not finished with the game—or with adventure—and want a change of scenery destination tournament to polish off their calendar after Las Vegas Global Championships.

The Globetrotter Cup will move from country to country across the globe, giving players the chance to experience Hurling and Gaelic Football in the local culture of each host. Our first three stops are already set: Kilkenny, Ireland in 2027Montreal, Canada in 2028, and Spain in 2029. Each year, a new city and a new culture—but the same familiar feeling of lining out with teammates and friends who love the game as much as you do.

For players, this is about more than medals or scores.

When you traveling to play you:

  • Turns your season into a built‑in holiday—a full day of matches followed by sightseeing, food, and sunshine.
  • Lets you experience Gaelic games in different cultures, seeing how clubs abroad train, support each other, and celebrate.
  • Grows your global network of teammates and friends, with new faces on the pitch and shared stories from every corner of the world.
  • Keeps you fit, motivated, and excited to train all year, knowing there’s a destination tournament waiting at the end of May.
  • Creates unforgettable trips with family and friends, whether they are on the pitch, in the stands, or exploring the host city while you play.

Most of all, the Globetrotter Cup is about global community—uniting Over 40s players from different counties and countries, and giving everyone a reason to keep playing and keep traveling together. So mark the last weekend of May on your calendar, talk to your club mates, and get your passports ready. Kilkenny 2027, Montreal 2028, Spain 2029… and plenty more stamps to come.
